Rajkummar Rao's gangster drama hit theatres on July 11. The film has not impressed the audience and had a sluggish start at the box office. As per reports, the film earned less than his previous release, Bhool Chuk Maaf earned on its opening day.
Maalik's box office report day 1
According to trade tracking site Sacnilk, Maalik collected Rs 3.48 crore on Day 1 and earned Rs 7 crore on its opening day. The earnings are low as compared to John Abraham's The Diplomat which collected Rs 4 crore on Day 1. Sitaare Zameen Par, Maa, and Metro In Dino are still attracting audiences. Maalik is leading the chart with major margin.
The film had an underwhelming opening but has outperformed Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's romantic drama Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Mallik is helmed by Pulkit and produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani. The film stars Rajkummar Rao along with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Manushi Chhillar. Saurabh Sachdeva, Saurabh Shukla, Anshumaan Pushkar, Swanand Kirkire, Rajendra Gupta, and Baljinder Kaur are seen in key roles. Rajkummar Rao has been getting praised for his exceptional performance in the film.
Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan box office report day 1
Shanaya Kapoor's debut film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan released in theatres on July 11 and has been receiving mixed reviews. The film managed to earn Rs 35 lakh on day 1 and the movie has grabbed attention with Shanaya's debut. The romantic musical drama, directed by Santosh Singh, also stars Vikrant Massey and the story is based on Ruskin Bond's short story The Eyes Have It. The storyline is about a blind musician and a passionate theatre artist. The film is produced by Zee Studios, Mini Films, and Open Window Films.
