AR Rahman talks about his mother's sacrifice for him
Recently, he was seen speaking to Imtiaz Ali on an OTT platform about his music for Amar Singh Chamkila and his musical journey in the entertainment industry. AR Rahman got emotional and revealed how his mother is the biggest reason why he stepped into the world of music and could set up his own studio. He said that he never went to college and felt that he was missing out on certain things and hence started being with people in their 40s and 50s but he was just 12 years old.
Songs became his new favourite and he listened to many new things and entered a new world. He also spoke about how he had no money when he wanted to start his studio and could not buy any equipment. However, his mother's sacrifice made him successful.
His mother sold her jewellery to buy him his first recorder. He wanted to buy an amplifier or equaliser but had only an AC and a shelf, a carpet. However, his mother's sacrifice empowered him and that one moment changed him and he could see his future in music.
