Mani Ratnam's Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan TR and Trisha Krishnan has finally ended its first weekend run. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 35.64 crore net in India in its first four days of release.

The gangster action-thriller film was released in theatres on Thursday and has reportedly earned Rs 15.5 crore net in India on its opening day. Kamal Haasan's film has witnessed a dip on Friday and managed to collect Rs 7.15 crore. On Saturday, its collection was around Rs 7.75 crore, and on Sunday it earned Rs 5.24 crore net in India. The first-weekend collection is around Rs 35.64 crore.
Kamal Haasan's previous films including Indian 2 by Shankar had performed way more better than Thug Life and made Rs 62.15 crore in four days. During the weekend it collected Rs 59.15 crore. While Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan I and II earned Rs 120.15 crore and Rs 103.75 crore respectively.
Talking about Thug Life, the film also stars Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf in interesting roles. Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan reunited after their 1987 hit Nayakan which was a classic. The film has been banned in Karnataka after language row and it has surely affected Kamal Haasan's film's collections.
Tarun Mansukhani's comedy film Housefull 5 had an amazing opening at the box office. According to Sacnilk, Akshay Kumar's film has maintained a stronghold at the box office and has collected Rs 87 crore.

As per the trade website reported, Akshay's film collected Rs 24 crore on its opening day. The collections are higher than his recent releases like Sky Force and Kesari Chapter 2. On day 2, the film earned Rs 31 crore and its domestic total is around Rs 55 crore. On the third day, the film collected Rs 32 crore and the total is around Rs 87 crore. The film is inching towards Rs 100 crore mark and it might surpass it on Monday.
