Why was Aditya Chopra skeptical about Saiyaara?
In an interview with entertainment news portal Just Too Filmy, Mohit Suri revealed how Aditya Chopra reacted when he narrated the story of Saiyaara to the producer for the first time. Aditya Chopra told him that he was stuck back in time. "Aditya Chopra told me, 'This script is for 25-year-olds. They don't go to theatres anymore," Mohit Suri revealed. He also shared that Aditya Chopra believed that only action films were working at the box office and it wasn't the time to make a love story like Saiyaara. But Mohit Suri stuck to his ground and told Aditya Chopra "I told him, 'Sir, let me take the risk.' I believed in the film and the performances. We weren't trying to manufacture a hit. It was honest storytelling." He explained that sometimes one has to fight for the story they want to tell. Ahaan Panday definitely got a great launch pad with Saiyaara all thanks to Mohit Suri's belief.

Talking about Saiyaara box office, the movie has done very well on its opening day. As reported by Sacnilk.com, Saiyaar has earned Rs 17.96 crore on its first day. These are early estimates and the final numbers are yet to come in. The movie has set a new benchmark in terms of a film that features debutants. It has become one of the highest grossers of the year 2025. It has left behind biggies like Sky Force, Sitaare Zameen Par and more to be in the top five on the list of highest opening day grossers of 2025.
