Asrani Death: On Diwali, October 20, veteran Bollywood actor Asrani passed away, leaving his loved ones and the film industry in immense sorrow. After spending four days at Arogya Nidhi Hospital, the well-known comedian and character actor passed away between 3-3.30 PM. Asrani's management said that despite medical attempts, he was unable to be revived since his health had been declining. He is survived by his wife, Manju Asrani, a former actress better known by her maiden name, Manju Bansal. The couple had no children.
His wife made sure that the funeral was quiet, private, and attended exclusively by close family members in order to fulfill the late actor's last wishes. With his death, an era in Hindi film comes to an end. But fans will remember Asrani's iconic performances and great comic timing from decades past.
Who is Asrani's wife Manju?
In the 1970s, Manju Bansal was a well-known actress. She costarred alongside Asrani in a number of movies. She continued to perform in movies until the 1980s, at which point she stopped doing it. Manju not only avoided acting but also resisted being in the spotlight. Both Asrani and Manju fell in love while working together on "Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar" and Namak Haram.
Following this, Asrani and Manju Bansal got married. Manju continued to work in films even after marriage. They collaborated on films including Chandi Sona, Tapasya, Jaan-E-Bahar, Jurmana, Nalayak, Sarkari Mehman, and Chor Sipahi.
Asrani and Manju have no children?
Manju Bansal and Asrani served as directors. Manju Bansal, whose real name is Manju Asrani, directed a few movies in the 1990s. She gradually removed herself from movies, though. Only his wife, sister, and nephew are left in the family after Asrani's death. Manju and Asrani didn't have any kids of their own.
