Haq box office collection day 7: Following a successful opening weekend, Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam's most recent courtroom drama suffered a modest, expected slowdown in pace. The film's compelling performances and captivating story, which received overwhelmingly excellent reviews from viewers, are driving consistent attendance despite the midweek decline, suggesting a strong showing as it nears the 15 crore milestone and moves into its second weekend.

All about Haq

The film's story tackles a serious and sensitive issue, but its slow pace and lack of entertainment quotient prevented it from attracting a large audience. Despite this, Yami Gautam's performance is receiving widespread praise. She wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), "The power of 'Word of mouth'. No foul-play or any gimmicks. Straight from our hearts to the audience. Even from trade & media perspective, I feel a lot of positivity that they want a film like ' HAQ' to be a success. It's a rarity & I shall cherish this moment for life."

What is the film's original story?

The story of Haq is inspired by one of the country's most controversial cases the Mohammed Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case. It is based on Jigna Vora's book 'Bano: India's Daughter.' The film begins in 1978, when Shah Bano, a woman, was divorced by her lawyer husband, Abbas. She then approaches the court to assert her rights. In 1985, the Supreme Court delivered a historic verdict declaring that Muslim women also have the right to receive maintenance under the law.
