Sanjay Leela Bhansali talks about receiving love from Pakistan
In an interview with Indiewire, Sanjay Leela Bhansali shared that he received a lot of love from across the border and people are waiting anxiously for Heeramandi story to be told. He believes that his web series somehow brings all of us together and it is set in pre-Independence era when India was undivided. The characters in the series belong to us as much as they do to them, he said. Sanjay Leela Bhansali further added, "I think they belong to both of us and both countries are showing a lot of love for finally the show being made. I still feel we're all one, I still feel that we're all connected in so many ways. There's a lot of love for people on both sides, leave aside a few people would want to create issues but those are not relevant."

Heeramandi on Netflix is all about courtesans from Lahore in the pre-Independence era. The web series stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal. It also has Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, Farida Jalal, Taha Shah Badussa and others in pivotal roles. The series has been trending on Netflix India ever since it has released and has also broken a few records. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has brought his A-game to OTT with Heeramandi that began streaming on the OTT platform from May 1.
