The fantasy drama Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra by Kalyani Priyadarshan is still going strong. The Sacnilk reports that the movie has already made an astounding Rs 119.25 crore in just 18 days, with Sunday's earnings adding an additional Rs 6.85 crore across all languages. The foundation of its success remains the original Malayalam version. In Kerala, the movie had an overall occupancy rate of 78.99% on Sunday, September 14. Audiences were crowded for the afternoon and evening shows which exceeded 85% and 88%, respectively.
On Day 18, the Telugu version's overall occupancy rate was 35.30%. Evening shows increased to 46.19%, while morning shows remained at 25.47%.
Lokah Chapter 1 worldwide collection
In just 17 days, Loka Chapter 1 has made Rs 236.50 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk. The amount has risen over Rs 242 crore with Sunday's domestic collection.
The film, which was made on a modest budget of Rs 30 crore, has made almost eight times its cost and recovered an incredible 806%. For comparison, the hugely successful film Chhava, which had a budget of Rs 130 crore, made Rs 807.91 crore globally and recovered 621% of its investment.
With this achievement, Loka Chapter 1 has become the second-highest grossing Malayalam film of the year, behind only L2 Empuraan, surpassing Thudaram's global total of Rs 234.5 crore. Interestingly, Thudaram was praised as one of the biggest Mollywood hits of the year.
Lokah turns out to be a game changer in...
Lokah, which was made on a budget of Rs 30 crores, is undoubtedly a game changer in Mollywood. The actors Naslen K. Gafoor, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Vijayaraghavan play important parts in the superhero fantasy movie, which stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as the lead. The characters Odiyan and Chathan, portrayed by Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas, respectively, were just officially unveiled by the film's makers.
However, viewers' opinions on Kalyani Priyadarshan's recent release Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira are conflicting. Fahadh Faasil plays the lead in the comedy-drama film, which was directed by Althaf Salim. Hridayapoorvam, Mohanlal's most recent movie, is doing well at the box office. Lokah is unquestionably the Onam winner overall.
